Traditional Water Well in Somalia πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡΄

$4,780.00 one-time gift

We are happy to announce that Somalia is now available as a new location for our water well projects.

Our Somalia well is a traditional community water well, built so that water can be collected manually using buckets. This simple and traditional system does not depend on electricity and can provide an important and practical source of water for the surrounding community.

Why Somalia?

Access to clean and reliable water remains extremely difficult for many communities across Somalia.

Years of recurring drought, harsh climate conditions, displacement, ongoing conflict and insecurity, and limited water infrastructure have placed tremendous pressure on families and communities. In some areas, people must travel long distances or depend on unreliable water sources to meet their everyday needs.

A locally accessible well can make an enormous difference by bringing a dependable source of water closer to the people who need it.

Why is the Somalia well more expensive?

Although the design of the well itself is traditional, constructing a water well in Somalia comes with significantly higher costs and much more difficult working conditions.

Somalia continues to experience conflict and security challenges in different parts of the country. This can make transportation, access and construction considerably more complicated.

Materials and equipment may need to be transported over long distances and through difficult routes. Fuel and transportation costs are high, and security conditions can cause delays, restrict access to certain locations or require additional local coordination to ensure that workers and materials can reach the project area safely.

In addition, excavation, reinforcement and the safe construction of a traditional well require considerable labour, skilled workers and resources.

For this reason, the higher price does not mean that the well is more luxurious or technologically advanced. It reflects the real cost of safely constructing and completing a water project under Somalia's difficult conditions.

Construction Time: 3 to 9 Months

Please note that Somalia water well projects take approximately 3 to 9 months to complete.

This longer construction period is necessary because working conditions can be unpredictable. Security situations, accessibility of the project area, transportation of materials, weather conditions and local logistical challenges can all affect the construction schedule.

Customers choosing Somalia should therefore expect a minimum project timeframe of around 3 months, with completion taking up to 9 months in some cases.

We ask for your patience throughout the process, as our priority is to complete each well safely and properly rather than rush construction under difficult conditions.

Every completed Somalia well will include documentation of the project, including photos and videos, so you can see the well that was built through your order.
